URBAN IMMUNIZATION IN THE SIX CITIES (KANDAHAR PROVINCE)
BARAN is currently implementing this project to increase routine Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) coverage among children and Child bearing aged (CBA) women residing in urban areas, by providing Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) services and contribute in addressing inequities in accessing the EPI services.
The project aims to increase access to routine immunization services in urban settings of Kandahar province, to promote demand for vaccination services, reduce missed opportunities and decrease dropout rate (DOR), to reach to un-immunized children in urban slums, IDPs, returnees and other deprived communities through improving access and utilization of routine EPI services.
Through this project, we are Conducting diagnostic assessment of urban settings and prepare specific immunization plan according to context through 15 diagnostic team in order to address missed opportunities through availability of equitable EPI services, improvement in utilization and demand generation of immunization services in the targeted areas by regular outreach activities through 4 outreach team.
This project is funded by GAVI Alliance, started in August 2020 and will be ended in August 2021.
