EXPANDING COMMUNITY BASED OUTREACH VACCINATION (CBOV) USING MOBILE IMMUNIZATION STRATEGY IN KANDAHAR PROVINCE

BARAN implemented CBOV project to support routine immunization through 38 Community-Based Vaccinator teams.

The project aim was to improve access and increase coverage of immunization services for unserved children residing in white areas of the low performing districts of Kandahar province.

Through this project, we have launched Community Based Outreach Vaccination (CBOV) using mobile immunization strategy in remote and underserved areas where fixed centers, outreach activities and mobile immunization package are not yet established.

This project reached to the poor geographic access and promote community participation and ownership through identification of local vaccinators and link them to BPHS.

This project was funded by GAVI Alliance, started in October 2019 and ended in March 2021.
