PERFORMANCE-BASED PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT (PPA) TO DELIVER BPHS IN BADAKHSHAN PROVINCE CLUSTER-I (UNDER SEHAT-II AND SIX-MONTH EXTENSION UNDER SEHATMANDI)
BARAN has implemented BPHS in cluster-1 of Badakhshan province as joint venture with Care of Afghan Families (CAF) with the objectives of reducing maternal and newborn mortality, reducing under five mortalities and improving child health and nutrition.
Totally one District Hospital (DH), 2 Comprehensive Health Centers Plus (CHC+s), 5 Comprehensive Health Centers (CHCs), 19 Basic Health Centers (BHCs), 17 Sub Health Centers (SHCs), and 273 Health Posts (HPs) are covered by this project for a population of 704,299 in the province.
At the same time this project provided the opportunity to improve quality of health care services at health facility levels by provision of regular initial, refresher and on the job trainings to the health workers on relevant topics.
The project was leaded by a joint steering committee from representatives of BARAN and CAF at the HQ level. While the project manager was leading the project at the provincial level and was reportable to the steering committee. The project was started in July 2015 and ended in December 2018.
