PERFORMANCE-BASED PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENTS (PPA) TO DELIVER BPHS IN SAMANGAN PROVINCE UNDER SEHAT PROJECT, PHASE-I
BARAN has implemented BPHS in Samangan province in partnership with Agency for Assistance and Development of Afghanistan (AADA) with the objectives of reducing maternal and newborn mortality, reducing under five mortalities and improving child health and nutrition.
Totally 3 District Hospital (DHs), 4 Comprehensive Health Centers (CHCs), 13 Basic Health Centers (BHCs), 9 Sub Health Centers (SHCs), and 180 Health Posts (HPs) as well as one prison health center was covered by this project for a population of 391,887 in the province.
At the same time this project provided the opportunity to improve quality of health care services at health facility levels by provision of regular initial, refresher and on the job trainings to the health workers on relevant topics.
The project was leaded by a joint steering committee from representatives of BARAN and AADA at the HQ level. While the project manager was leading the project at the provincial level and was reportable to the steering committee. The project was started in January 2014 and ended in December 2016.
