IMPROVING NUTRITION OF MOTHERS NEWBORN’S AND CHILDREN IN AFGHANISTAN (INMNC)
BARAN is qualified by SCI (Save the Children International) for the implementation of INMNC project in Bamyan province.
The project aimed to build the capacity of staff and community-based workers; support the Public Nutrition Department (PND) of the MoPH and developing a gender-sensitive national nutrition training package for doctors-nurses and midwives of health facilities as well as CHWs and Family Health Action Groups (FHAGs) at the community level.
Through this project the community awareness was increased for the purpose of promoting Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) messages and promoting healthy nutritional practice among the community members through developing, printing and disseminating information/education and communications (IEC) materials to the health facilities and community.
The project was started in July 2015 and ended in December 2016 for a duration of 17 months.
